We take to heart the fact that natural tooth structure, enamel and dentin, are non-renewable resources.
Once they are gone, they will not grow back. Therefore, they should not be sacrificed unnecessarily.
In an earlier time, it was believed that any tooth with a large restoration or a root canal should have a crown
placed, even if it meant cutting away a portion of the tooth that was still healthy.
Taking away healthy tooth structure weakens the underlying tooth, no matter what is placed over it.
Nowadays, more modern techniques and materials have made it possible to achieve excellent and long-lasting esthetic
and functional results without losing sound tooth structure. Crowns, onlays and inlays are seldom necessary
anymore. Photos of our work can be seen by clicking on Examples of our Work above.
We also believe that the significant increase in human lifespan should be taken into account when making
treatment recommendations. With many more people living to be quite old, we will try to preserve, rather than
amputate, natural tooth structure that is not diseased, in order to help our patients keep their natural
teeth for their entire lives.
We take a craftsman-like approach to our work. When you see the hygienist, you'll receive the thoroughness
of care usually reserved for the periodontist's office. Every trace of plaque, tartar and stain will be removed,
not just "touched up". That same thoroughness is practiced by the dentist in all procedures. We do not rush
our patients in and out, because we value the quality of our work over quantity, and because we are striving
for long-term excellent results for our patients.
We also have individual treatment rooms that allow for more complete patient privacy.
We have resigned from participation in all dental insurance programs
because it simply is not possible to provide high quality, modern
dental care at the unrealistically low rate of reimbursement they all offer.
While we are not a participating provider for any insurance plan,
we will gladly submit the paperwork to your insurance company for
you. The patient is responsible for any amount not paid by insurance.
Cash, Check, Debit Card, Visa/Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Payment is due at the time of service.
For extensive work, a payment plan can be arranged for you.
