Lee Surrenders at Appomatox Courthouse

The Confederate States of America is brought to an end after the Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrenders to Union General Ulysses S. Grant. The signing of the agreements took place at the Appomatox Courthouse in Virginia. Grant's army struck Lee's hard forcing them to retreat and they finally back into Appomatox, Virginia, where the Union takes victory over the Confederacy. Abraham Lincoln is the president at this time and he soon controls all lands of the United States of America. As for the Confederates, there days of power are over, no state governments, and their use of slaves will be solved.
