THE UNION WINS THE WAR

By Ben Whelan
Civil War Reporter

Lincoln hired all of the generals
The Union has won the war! Yesterday there was a great battle fought between Broun Gordon and Gen. Robert E. Lee. There were a lot of men fighting. Lee was determined to flee the Union forces and get to the supplies at Lynchburg. The Confederate was fighting and gaining ground against "Sheridan's" army. Then Union reinforcements arrived and surrounded the Confederate on three sides. Lee knew that he could not win so he put up a white flag of truce. Lee signed the surrender papers later that day. After the papers were signed the Union soldiers cheered so loudly you wouldn't believe it.
