Harriet Tubman was born as a slave.At the age of 30 she feared that she was going to be sold to another plantation so she ran away. with the help of the North Star and a kind white woman, she traveled north to Philadelphia and freedom. Over the next ten years she traveled south 19 times to escort over 300 enslaved African Americans to freedom. She will be greatly remembered.
