The president of the north was assassinated! The name of this president was Abraham Lincoln. Abraham was also known as Honest Abe. He was assassinated in his booth while watching a play at Ford's Theater. His killer was John Wilks Booth. Booth escaped on horseback. Booth had a getaway horse behind the theater. Booth escaped into the Confederacy by crossing the Potomic River.
