Use the 'Place an ad' form to have a classified ad run in The Free Lance-Star. Classified ads that are scheduled to run on fredericksburg.com appear shortly after midnight each day. Deadlines for placing ads for print are listed below:

  We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash, checks and money orders.
• Correction Policy: We cannot be responsible for more than one incorrect insertion. Read your ad carefully the first time it is published. Call (540) 374-5001 and leave a message 24 hours/7 days a week to report errors immediately

• $2.74/line first insertion.
• $2.46/line subsequent insertions.
• $2.00/line long-term frequency insertions. (12 day/month min.)
• $3.16/line Saturday or Sunday, first insertion.
• $2.84/line subsequent Saturday or Sunday insertions.
• 3-line minimum ad size.
• $10.00 minimum ad charge. Prepayment required.
• 10 lines per inch. Average 5 words per line.
• Help Wanted & Recruitment rates:
  Daily rate: $3.30/line of type; Sat. or Sun.: $3.80/line of type.
• Star Weekly Rates*: $1.90/line; $2.45/line Help Wanted/Recruitment
• Total number of lines may differ slightly between on-line and newspaper.

• To have your ad appear online there is an additional charge of 20%.

• 1 item per ad. Each ad is 3 lines
  and runs for 1 day on Wednesday.
• Limit of 4 ads per household per month.
• The item for sale cannot exceed $50. The price of the item must be included in the ad.
• 4 like items may be advertised FREE. Exceeding the limit will result in a paid advertisement.
• Items in this category are merchandise in and around your home (No animals, plants, firewood, yard sales. All ads are subject to approval by Free Lance–Star management.
