Bronson Hall scattered seven hits and struck out eight in eight innings of work, as the Mary Washington College baseball team routed host Apprentice School 11-2 in a nonconference matchup yesterday in Newport News. The win kept the Eagles' unbeaten streak alive and 13 and pushed Mary Washington's overall record to 19-3-1 this season. The Eagles were ranked 24th in Division III last week. Hall, who improved to 4-0 this season, was the beneficiary of a pair of four-run outbursts by his teammates. The Eagles scored four times in both the third and fourth innings, knocking out Apprentice starter Dennis Self in the process. Self allowed eight runs on eight hits in 3 innings of work. John Chiles, Max Seaman, Mike Drummond and Aaron Altscher each drove in two runs for the Eagles. Mark McEathron, Jay Quintana, Jason Sullivan, Chiles and Drummond each had two base hits. McEathron, Seaman, and Quintana each scored twice as the top six hitters in the of the Eagles' lineup went a combined 10-for-26 with nine runs scored and eight RBIs. The damage could have been worse, as Mary Washington stranded nine runners on base. Stefan Schoen closed out the win for the Eagles, striking out three of the four batters he faced in the ninth inning. The Eagles hit the field again tomorrow, traveling north to St. Mary's for a Capital Athletic Conference game that is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. The Eagles are 4-0 and atop the CAC standings. <> <> <> > <> > <> > <> > <> R > <> H > <> E > > <> <> MWC > <> 004 > <> 401 > <> 110 > <> 11 > <> 11 > <> 2 > > <> <> Apprentice > <> 001 > <> 000 > <> 100 > <> 2 > <> 8 > <> 5 > > >BRONSON HALL, Stefan Schoen (9) and Jason Sullivan.
