Hospice Support Care has started a grief support group for teens. The group is open to teen-agers who have experienced the death of a loved one or who have a loved one who is terminally ill. A trained facilitator with Hospice will meet with the group on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The next session will be held May 28. Hospice Support Care also has an ongoing children's support group called "Kids Helping Kids" for children ages 7 to 13. The grief support groups help children deal with their emotions and connect to one another as well as a group. The children's group will meet May 16. The organization will hold its sixth annual "Camp Rainbow" Saturday and Sunday at Mullins Farm in Spotsylvania County. The camp is for children 7 to 13, who lost a loved one in the past 18 months. The session helps children cope with grief through interaction with each other, volunteer "big buddies," and a trained counselor. The upcoming camp is full, but anyone interested in the support group or a future camp can contact Adrian Langford, children's bereavement coordinator at 710-0480. Hospice Support Care, located at 2119 Lafayette Blvd., is a non-profit group that provides support for people with terminal illnesses and their families.
