The FBI lab in Washington has reported back on some of the evidence in the Richard Marc Evonitz case, but officials say they won't release any details until all the testing is finished.
Meanwhile, detectives from more than a dozen law enforcement agencies across the region will meet Monday to discuss unsolved crimes that could be linked to the suspected serial killer. Spotsylvania sheriff's Maj. Howard Smith, head of the task force investigating the slayings of three area girls in 1996 and 1997, says it's important for agencies to share information. Retired FBI profiler Gregg McCrary says Evonitz may be responsible for rapes and other sex crimes. Evonitz became a suspect in the slayings of Sofia Silva and sisters Kristin and Kati Lisk after he committed suicide last month in a standoff with Florida authorities. He was being sought then in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old South Carolina girl. --Kari Pugh
