Sniper shootings in the region began at 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday when a
shot was fired into a Michaels Arts and Craft store in Aspen Hill, Md.
No one was injured in this incident.
1. Wednesday, 6:04 p.m., James D. Martin, a 55-year-old white man, was shot and killed crossing the parking lot at Shoppers Food Warehouse in Wheaton, Md. 2. Thursday, 7:41 a.m., James L. „Sonny‰ Buchanan, a 39-year-old white man, shot and killed while mowing the lawn at Fitzgerald Auto Mall, White Flint, Md. 3. Thursday, 8:12 a.m., Premkumar A. Walekar, a 54-year-old Indian man, shot dead while pumping gas at a Mobil station in Aspen Hill. 4. Thursday, 8:37 a.m., Sarah Ramos, a 34-year-old Hispanic woman, shot dead while sitting on a bench near a post office in Silver Spring, Md. 5. Thursday, 9:58 a.m., Lori Lewis Rivera, a 25-year-old white woman, shot dead while vacuuming a minivan at a Shell station in Kensington, Md. 6. Thursday, 6:50 p.m., Pascal Charlot, a 72-year-old black man, shot dead while crossing the street in Northwest Washington. 7. Friday, 2:30 p.m., Identity withheld, a 43-year-old Spotsylvania County woman, shot in the back in the parking lot of Michaels Arts and Craft store near Spotsylvania Mall. She was released from the hospital yesterday. 8. Monday, 8:09 a.m., Identity withheld, a 13-year-old black male, shot in the chest on his way to Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Bowie, Md. He is hospitalized.
