Eagles get All-America tennis nod

Dan Uyar and Kevin Loden became Mary Washington College's first men's tennis All-Americans by finishing fifth in doubles at the National Small College Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Uyar and Loden defeated their opponents from Trinity (Ct.) College 9-8 (5) yesterday in the Division III fifth-place match.

On Thursday, Uyar and Loden rebounded from a first-round loss to Kevin Whipple and Eric Butorac of Gustavus Adolphus 8-5. They later defeated Andrew Kolesnikov and Vitaliy Pereverzev of MIT 9-7 in the consolation semifinals.

VOLLEYBALL MWC 3, Marymount 2

MWC rallied to win the last two games and edge Marymount last night in a Capital Athletic Conference match in Arlington.

Sarah Libby had 21 kills, 21 digs and six aces in the Eagles' 30-21, 29-31, 27-30, 30-23, 15-13 victory, their fifth straight win.

Lauren Eigle added 26 digs and 13 kills for MWC, which improved to 13-10 overall and 4-2 in the CAC.
