QUESTION: Just wanted to know if there was a new subdivison going in off Mine Road in Spotsylvania? There is an area off the road where they have cleared a bunch of trees.
ANSWER: That will be Lee's Crossing, a new subdivision with plans for 242 housing units.

QUESTION: What is being built on Blockhouse Road east of the intersection with Robert E. Drive approximately a half mile on the right handside?
ANSWER: That's a wetlands bank. The clearing will be left as open space.

QUESTION: What is going to be built in Thornburg off the south side of Mud Tavern Road where they just cleared the trees. Between I-95 and U.S. 1.
ANSWER: The owner has cleared the land just to market the property. County planners have not received a proposal for the site. Also in that area, there will be a cell phone tower right where the existing water tower is located.

QUESTION: What is being built next to the Garrisonville Animal Hospital located on U.S. 1 - north of Garrisonville Road.
ANSWER: That's Widewater Village, which has 78 manufactured homes now under construction. Full buildout calls for 432 units.

QUESTION: What's happening with all the site clearing along State Route 610/Greensprings/Salisbury intersections. It had been cleared last year for a car dealer. What is the situation with those lots.
ANSWER: The county is reviewing site plans for Rosner Auto Park, a BB&T bank, a WaWa and a Wingate Inn hotel. All four of those businesses are planned for that parcel, and their site plans are nearing approval by the county. Once that happens, work can begin.

QUESTION: What type of businesses are slated for Route 218 (White Oak Road) in Stafford.
ANSWER: The county is reviewing site plans for White Oak Animal Hospital and a proposed rezoning for a retail shopping center with 79,000 squaure feet and six pad sites at the intersection of White Oak and Town and Country Drive.

QUESTION: What are they building on Plantation Boulevard between the synagogue and the town homes in Stafford? It looks like a storefront!
ANSWER: That's a planned community center, which will have a community building, pool and playground.

QUESTION: They have been clearing trees across from Salem Fields, to the right of Salem Community Church. What is the intent for this land on Gordon Road?
ANSWER: The owner has cleared that land only for agricultural use. There are no plans to build anything there.

QUESTION: Do you know the name of the restaurant going into the old Johnny Appleseed Restaurant on Warrenton Road (U.S. 17)? ANSWER: No, we don't. And neither does the county. Planners have not received new plans for that building as of this week.
