Date published: 4/10/2003 (Richmond-AP) -- Nine anti-war activists were arrested today after refusing to leave the Richmond offices of U.S. Senators John Warner and George Allen. Lindsay Eyth of the group Citizens Against the War and Occupation said the protesters were arrested for trespassing. As they were escorted to police cruisers, protesters chanted "Money for jobs and education, not for war and occupation." Allen spokesman Michael Waldron said the senator welcomes Virginians to drop by his offices and share their views ... but he said the protesters disrupted operations by yelling and blocking the door. Warner aides did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment. Eyth acknowledged that five demonstrators in Allen's office and four in Warner's office were asked to leave but refused.
