Suspected triggerman identified

Date published: 4/25/2003

(College Park-AP) -- Prince George's County police have identified the man they believe shot a woman and himself at the University of Maryland.

Police say 21-year-old Ki-seong Kim of Silver Spring shot the unidentified woman this afternoon in a parking garage near the Comcast Center.

The woman he allegedly shot in the head remains in grave condition.

Prince George's County Police Captain Andy Ellis says Kim drove up, boxed her car in, and shot her. He then turned the gun on himself.

Both P-G and university police have been trying to calm nervous students on the College Park campus -- reassuring them there's no gunman on the loose. Ellis says this doesn't appear to be a random act, and that they're not looking for any suspects.
