With one lie after another, Bush gears up for election

With one lie after another, Bush gears up for election

Date published: 6/16/2003

President George Bush says one lie after another, and says what the public wants to hear, all the while knowing that it's just a lie.

This increases his popularity. He just signed a bill that he said would create 1 million jobs by the end of 2004. Remember this lie at election time because he will have some reason why he did not deliver, and since it is election time in 2004, he will probably somehow blame the Democrats.

These are all lies: Weapons of mass destruction, the Iraqi army will defect, and the people will cheer the American troops. Later, Bush declared victory, but the next week we were sending 15,000 to 20,000 more troops to Iraq, and our troops die daily. For what? Protecting "our" freedom and democracy in a place that had neither?

When will this liar say something that has some truth? He even called it a war in Iraq, but I agree with others that it was no war; it was a small country being given a beating. This was no match-up, but he got revenge for his father at the expense of over 100 American soldiers being killed.

Next week he will tell you that WMDs were found. Check the fingerprints on these weapons--you might find Bush's on them. No, I am not a Demo-crat, or Republican for that matter, but I vote for the issues and I vote against a frequent liar.
