David A. Hall

David Alexander Hall, 72, of Spotsylvania County, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at his home with his family around him. He attended elementary and junior-senior high school in McDowell County, W.Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 320. He retired from Kodak/Qualex Co. in Alexandria, after 32 years of dedicated employment. David was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed making things for family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Ruth E. Hall, with whom he shared more than 45 years of marriage and friendship. There are six surviving sons and daughters: Wilbert C. Jennings and his wife, Lee, Michael F. Jennings and his wife, Vicki, and Charlene Kaila and her husband, John, all of Fredericksburg, Douglas A. Jennings and his wife, Vickie, of Stafford, David A. Hall and his wife, Sandi, of Fredericksburg, and Lisa Marie Willis and her husband, Don, of Spotsylvania; seven brothers and one sister; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence G. Hall and Belle Jennings Hall, and his brother, L.D. "Bud" Hall, all of Jenkins Jones, W.Va.; and his beloved granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Jennings Toombs of Fredericksburg.

A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with Pastor Ray Liptrap officiating. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with an American Legion service at 8 p.m.
