Is the Catholic Church really the cause of all evil?

We were surprised to learn that the Catholic Church's stance on morality was killing the Third World, as noted in the Nov. 1 letter "Roman church's dogmas are killing the Third World." Our initial reaction was to ask if the Catholic church's moral teachings are also causing the extinction of Western Europe.

Moral law is the natural law. The natural law is not the product of the Catholic Church. But through the ages the Catholic Church has said, and still says, that the natural law is what man must live by. Even if we did not have a Catholic Church teaching that man must live by moral laws, we could discern that violations of the natural law are intrinsically evil.

So the conclusion is that if in Africa and Europe (and let's not leave out the United States) we respected that the sexual act is reserved for marriage, with its natural periods of chastity, we would have a better world.
