Mrs. Maureen L. Gladden

The marriage of Miss Maureen Lee Jett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Lee Jett of Beaverdam, to Mr. Jason Carl Gladden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dean Gladden of Spotsylvania County, took place Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry E. Lenow officiated.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Lee Jett of Spotsylvania and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Joseph Martin of Newport News. The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Luther Anderson O'Kelly and the late Mr. O'Kelly of Monroe, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John William Gladden of Kings Mountain, N.C.

Miss Caroline Martin Jett of Washington, D.C., was her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Michael E. Williams Jr., Miss Suzanna E. Schmeelk, and Miss Melissa T. Buelow. Miss India C. Cloe, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Mr. Christopher Matthew Grab of Arlington served as best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Paul R. Gladden, brother of the groom, Mr. Matthew T. Adams, and Mr. Charles F. Lepple. Mr. Michael L. Behnke served as usher. Master Maxwell M. Cloe, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Renato's Italian Restaurant in Fredericksburg. A luncheon reception was held at Fredericksburg Square following the ceremony. The Fredericksburg trolley transported the wedding party from the church to the reception.

The bride graduated magna cum laude and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Richmond. The groom graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is working towards his master's degree. Both are employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Fredericksburg.
