We've learned importance of living wills

We've learned importance of living wills

Date published: 5/18/2004

We here at Sunset, Oak Hill, and Laurel Hill cemeteries were pleased to see the recent letters about living wills.

Those of us in family service meet with hundreds of families every year who are faced with these difficult decisions. Without a living will, many of them experience tremendous guilt and doubt about the choices they make.

We see them after they have decided which course to take. No loved one should be placed in that position. For many years, our cemeteries have encouraged families to create their own living wills

We see this as one of our most important duties. Thank you for highlighting this vital issue.

Jerri Herfurtner

Jerri Herfurtner is manager of Sunset Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill Cemetery, and Laurel Hill Memorial Park. This letter was also signed by Nancy Gruszewski from Sunset, Vickie Headley from Oak Hill, and Adrienne Hughes from Laurel Hill.
