Bush administration can't stop all terrorism
Date published: 11/5/2004
President Bush is always speaking about how he is going to win the war on terror. My question is, how?
The war on terror is like the war on drugs--no matter how much you fight it, no matter how many drug busts you make or dealers you jail, there will always be drugs.
In the war on terror, you can eliminate or detain all of the Taliban or al-Qaida, and you would still have terrorism. The terrorist threats are all based on hate, and hate is what began the perpetual motion machine of the Middle East. Hate is also part of human nature.
This hate in potential terrorists can grow, and as it grows, it gains strength. It is when the hate grows to the point at which it is strong enough to demonstrate itself that a catastrophic event such as 9/11 occurs.
It is because of this, because even a little hate has the potential to grow, that the war on terrorism will never end.
