Akhtar Mariam Hormozi, 92, of Palmdale, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, in Palmdale. She was born in 1912 in Sanandaj, Iran. She was the widow of Youhanna Panoussi. Mrs. Hormozi came to the United States in the mid-1980s and became a proud citizen. Survivors include six children, Julie Panosi of Reston, and Jamil Panoussi, Phillip Panoussi, and Fayhema Hormozi, all of Palmdale, Janet Nikeli of Glendora, Calif., and Kelemon B. Panoussi of West Valley, Utah. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Reston on Friday, Nov. 5.
