Hugh Mercer Elementary

Hugh Mercer thanks all the families that have generously donated their time and contributions to the first semester's fund-raisers. The book fair was a huge success, as were the PTA's fund-raising programs.

BOOKIT, the literacy incentive program offered through Pizza Hut, has completed its first successful month at Hugh Mercer. Many students met their reading goals and received free pizza certificates.

After-school programs began this week from 3:15 to 3:50 p.m. for second and third grades. The courses include Spanish, French and technology. Preregistration is required for attendance. The classes will continue meeting every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon throughout the month of November.

The guidance department reminds families that students are invited to participate in small-group counseling sessions to share discussion and participate in activities. Interested parents may contact the school guidance department.

Hugh Mercer participates in an ink-cartridge recycling program. If you would like to donate used computer ink cartridges, please send them to the front office.
