Theater razing means part of the past is gone
It saddens me to see the Virginians movie theater being demolished ["Demolition crews begin razing area's Virginians movie house," March 10].
It was so disheartening, I cried. I remember seeing "Grease" there for the first time.
Memories of going to the drive-in with my parents and walking with my sister in our pajamas to buy popcorn and candy will always be special ones. Driving on Lafayette Boulevard and seeing the theater always gave me a feeling of comfort.
I'm heartbroken to see yet another place go, only to be turned into a strip mall or a gas station. Heck, they might even try to squeeze in a subdivision.
