Woman has no idea how to cut down on feral cats

Woman has no idea how to cut down on feral cats

Date published: 3/30/2005

Ginny Foreman's recent letter to the editor is the second insult thrown at the community ["Feral cats are not miserable and don't need rescuing," March 17].

The first insult was in a previous article, in which Ms. Foreman stated that no one cared about the unspayed cats living in the proximity of St. Mary Catholic Church ["Woman trying to save cat colony," Jan. 16].

The effort to spay and neuter the cats was funded by members of the church's congregation, residents near the church, and it was aided by some in the "rescue community."

The article also stated that Ms. Foreman is leaving the state. I hope she takes her feral cat colonies with her so they won't be miserable. Or perhaps she will leave them for the "rescue community" to salvage.

Ms. Foreman needs to understand that the effort to control cat overpopulation doesn't mean "Trap, Neuter, and Leave Town."
