Despite a strong pitching performance by Mike Lenox, King George scored a run in the top of the fifth inning and went on to win a district game over Courtland, 2-1. King George's Donald Howell pitched well, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five batters. Donald Howell and Jason Mason had one hit each along with scoring one run each. Courtland's Lenox allowed two runs on six hits while striking out 12 batters. Alan Welborn scored Courtland's lone run. His two-run double in the second inning gave Orange (8-9 overall, 3-6 district) a 2-0 lead, but Louisa scored a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.
