4 Alaskan scout leaders die at Jamboree
Four people are dead and two more seriously injured after an electrical mishap yesterday at the National Scout Jamboree.

Four adult scout leaders from the Western Alaskan Council died yesterday after an electrical accident at the National Scout Jamboree at Fort A. P. Hill.

Another adult scout leader and a contractor were also injured. They were airlifted from the scene, said Gregg Shields, national spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America.

Youth scouts involved in the incident were treated at the scene, Shields said. None suffered serious injuries.

The incident occurred in subcamp seven between 4:30 and 5 p.m.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
