Jennifer Short's remains were found six weeks later under a bridge in North Carolina.
Investigators are re-interviewing people and developing new leads in the 2002 shooting deaths of Jennifer and her parents, Michael and Mary Short.
Kevin Foust with the Roanoke FBI office says investigators began a complete review of the case about three months ago. He told The Roanoke Times the process has generated leads, which he declined to discuss.
Henry County Sheriff Frank Cassell says that between six and ten people are working on the case at any one time. That includes FBI, state police and others.
Investigators say they're optimistic they will crack the case eventually.
About 800 people gathered yesterday for the third annual Jennifer Short Memorial Bike/Car Ride, an event that raises money for a scholarship fund. Organizer Ray Reynolds says the event raised about three thousand dollars for the scholarship fund.
