Born Aug. 19, 1929, in Falls Church, he was a former resident of Cape Coral, Fla. In 1998, he moved to Heartfields Assisted Living, Fredericksburg, and in 2004 he moved to Heritage Hall Nursing Home, King George.

Tom's first wife, Dorothy "Dottie" MaCauslin, died of cancer. In 1991 he married his second wife, Margaret J. Hunter "Peggy" Hannold, who died in 1997 of amyloidosis. He supported and cared for both Dottie and then Peggy valiantly and lovingly. Tom lived for many years with Parkinson's disease and diabetes, meeting every challenge with great courage and perseverance.

Tom's wishes are to be cremated and his ashes spread over the Gulf of Mexico.
