Rise up, citizens, to save Crow's Nest

Date published: 9/10/2005

After viewing a video on the incredible beauty of Crow's Nest, I was once again struck by a disheartening fact. Each individual has the power to stop this development from happening but refuses to do so ["'Crow's Nest' film is a must-see," Sept. 2].

It is our collective apathy and inaction that allow a minority of developers and those who don't care about the environment or quality of life to control the majority of those who do.

Logically, we must hold ourselves accountable for letting something so disastrous as the development of Crow's Nest happen. If you and I don't do something, no one else will.

Which is why I am urging all residents in Stafford and the surrounding areas to voice their opposition to this project.

We must educate ourselves about the irreversible impact that this development would have on this area, inform our neighbors about the power they have to stop it, and contact our local, state, and federal representatives to let them know that development of this area is unacceptable.

See the video, make the call, attend the meeting, write the letter, and, for the sake of this area, act now!
