Thomas L. Noakes
Thomas Lee Noakes, 62, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Noakes received his associate's degree from Ferrum College, his bachelor's degree from Emory & Henry College and his master's degree from the University of Virginia. Mr. Noakes worked in the Caroline County school system for 25 years as a teacher and an assistant principal. He also was employed in the Spotsylvania County school system as principal at Courtland High School, and he had retired from the School Board office. Mr. Noakes was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly G. Noakes; his parents, Carroll and Sybil Noakes; and a brother, Douglas Noakes. He is survived by to sons, Eric Noakes of Stafford County and Trever Noakes of Fredericksburg; a daugher, Kirsten Noakes of Brookneal; a brother, Richard Noakes of Spotsylvania; and two grandchildren, Cullen and Landon Noakes. Services for Mr. Noakes will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in White Family Cemetery, Charlotte County, Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m.
