Donna L. Blass

Donna L. Blass, 53, of King George County died at her home Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005.

Born in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Blass was the owner and operator of Buttons & Bows Sewing and Alterations in King George. She was previously employed at the Naval Exchange at Naval Surface Weapons Center, Dahlgren Division. She was a member of Taber-nacle Baptist Church in King George and the widow of Steven Blass.

Survivors include one daughter, Roxanne Guthrie of Colonial Beach; one sister, Charlotte A. Steinhoff of Fairfax; three brothers, Gilbert J. Wood Jr. of Fredericksburg, Ted W. Wood of Chesapeake and George L. Wood of Seattle, Wash.; her mother, Rita E. Baxter of Littleton, N.C.; her father, Gilbert J. Wood Sr. of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Roger Horton, Krystal Horton, Patrick Guthrie and Sara Linnimen; beloved friends, Carol Kelso and Nancy Darrow; and a nephew, Matthew Wood. She was predeceased by a son, Roger Michael Cox, and a brother, Russell T. Wood.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sherman Davis officiating. Burial will be in National Memorial Park in Falls Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Sonja Gallahan, 5504 Igo Road, King George, Va. 22485; or to Community Home Health and Hospice, 3302 Bourbon St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22408.
