MATHEWS, Va. (AP) - Investigators are asking the public for help as they continue gathering evidence in the death of college student Taylor Behl.
The 17-year-old freshman from Vienna disappeared from Virginia Commonwealth University on Labor Day and her body was found a month later in a remote area of Mathews County.
The task force investigating her death wants the public to help identify a pond -- surrounded by trees -- shown in two photographs.
Les Lauziere, a criminal investigator with the state attorney general's office, said yesterday they'd like to know where the pond is located. He declined to say where police got the photos or their significance.
He says that considering the type of trees and foliage shown in the photos, investigators believe the wooded pond is probably on the Middle Peninsula, but it may be elsewhere.
Other agencies on the task force include the Virginia State Police, the FBI, and the Richmond and VCU police departments.
