Charles E. Elliott

Charles Edward Elliott, 57, of Thornburg went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at his residence.

A native of Chester, Pa., he was a 1966 graduate of Chichester High School in Boothwyn, Pa., and a 1970 graduate of Temple University.

He was the owner of Elliott's Auto Service and Body Inc. since 1973. He was a member of Spotswood Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir, served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He participated in mission trips to Moldova and Romania.

Charles also was a member of the Gideons International, Spotsylvania Camp, having served as chaplain; the Virginia Train Collectors Association; Train Collectors of America; and Berkeley Hunt Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen Elliott; one son, Brian Edward Elliott and his wife, Donna, of Thornburg; two grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Elliott; his mother, Laura S. Elliott of Thornburg; his mother-in-law, Maxine Grasser of Thornburg; one brother, Lewis Hugh Elliott Jr. and his wife, Fay, of Thornburg; one sister, Barbara Ann Hickey and her husband, Ray, of Spotsylvania County; three nieces; and eight nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis H. Elliott Sr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Spotswood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Melvin and the Rev. Joseph Anderson officiating.
