Scout Lester explains the mechanical workings of a vehicle and the new technology that makes modern cars safer to drive.

Girl Scouts from Senior Troop 881 in Spotsylvania County visited Purvis Ford recently for a tune-up on car care.

The Scouts learned how to check fluids and change the oil and a tire from Scott Lester, while owner Eli Patrick talked to the girls about financing, insurance and the cost of running a vehicle.

Lester also talked to the girls about career opportunities in the automotive industry.

The Scouts agreed that this workshop was valuable information for all teenagers to learn.

Lester received a handful of Girl Scout cookies and a smile from the young ladies he assisted as they earned their Car Sense badge.
