'Vision' of a developed Crow's Nest is a real nightmare

Anyone interested in looking at an example of the potential devastation awaiting if Crow's Nest is developed need only look as far as Brooke Road.

SYG Associates developments on Brooke Road across from Crow's Nest are a testament to the probable damage awaiting this sensitive ecosystem.

Inadequate silt-fence protection along with wetlands that have been diverted and destroyed on one side of Brooke Road have allowed massive amounts of silt and debris to wash into Crow's Nest.

Days after rainstorms, thick, brown muck fills once-clear water across the road from SYG Associates construction.

Pools of slime coat areas of standing water farther past the road.

Crow's Nest is a treasure of national significance and deserves better treatment; the construction near it that's already occurring deserves more stringent oversight by our county officials.
