According to today's Free Lance-Star, the board authorized the County Attorney to make K&M Properties of McLean an offer for the land. Officials would not disclose the amount, but said it would be about equal to an appraisal done by a private company earlier this year. Stafford has assessed the property at roughly $24 million.
