Although I did not read the letter to which Kathryn Purinton referred, I must respond because I feel she is off the mark. I believe Crow's Nest is certainly a special place and should retain its beauty. Ms. Purinton's free-will choice to have such bitter feelings toward children is hers to keep. Not wanting to pay taxes for other people's children is not quite the whole story. She is missing the bigger picture. There will always be children "sucking up your tax dollars," but these same children will one day be the very same people who will be our doctors, nurses, local business owners, teachers, lawyers, servicemen and women, pastors, and more. They need the best education our tax dollars can give them, for one day they may be the very same people who will be making decisions to save yet another Crow's Nest. There will always be a "very special place" to save, and there will always be children to teach. I'll put my money on the children. One final note: To the teachers and all those who make the schools run, have a wonderful and well-deserved vacation. Mary-Rose Dundon Stafford
