Can we all just get along for a while?
In reference to the colorful letters from Kathryn Purinton ["Parents, quit whining ," June 25] and Wanda Cushing ["Saving Crow's Nest ," June 20], please consider the following to keep the "whining parents" and the "environmental extremists" from killing each other: Let's educate the children about Crow's Nest. Of course, on the field trip the kids might have to walk halfway there, because there might not be any money for the school buses and gas prices are so high--but perhaps Kathryn Purinton and some of her friends may be feeling charitable that day and may be willing to drive them the rest of the way in the ethanol hybrids that I'm sure they own. At any rate, at some point the sun is going to become a "red giant." When that happens, Crow's Nest is going to burn up, your children are going to burn up, and the school buses are going to burn up. So maybe we could all just get along for a while instead of getting all burned up prematurely? James A. Moncure Stafford
