Kenneth B. Cundiff

Kenneth Brown Cundiff, 76, of Stafford County died of cancer Monday, July 31, 2006.

He was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Boonville, N.C. Kenneth was the oldest of four children, all deceased, and the son of the late Thad W. and Hallie E. Brown Cundiff.

He attended Yadkin County High School in Boonville, N.C., Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C., and Storer College in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. He became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Boonville at an early age.

Kenneth resided in Washington, D.C., for a number of years before moving to Stafford in 1970. He was employed with the Defense Intelligence Agency for 35 years before retiring in 1986.

After retirement, he was employed as a real estate agent, owned and operated K.C. Restaurant in Stafford and served on the Aquia Harbour Homeowners board of directors and other Aquia committees. He was a member of the Aquia Golf Club and the Aquia Lions.

Surviving Kenneth is his wife of 49 years, Therese Doris Echols; and sons, Larry W. Cundiff of Hyattsville, Md., and Kenneth Bruce Cundiff of Fredericksburg. One son, Derrick Ronald Cundiff, preceded Kenneth in death. He also has one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; two nieces, a cousin, Richard Brown; and a host of relatives and friends. A special thanks to his niece, Josefa Bethea-Wall, cousin Richard Brown, and Wayne and Lorine Boles of Boonville for their unfailing dedication and friendship.

A wake and brief service will be held at Ebenezer United Metho-dist Church, 161 Embrey Mill Road, Stafford, on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m. A final funeral will be held in Boonville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the AKA/XI Upsilon Omega Chapter's Educational Scholarship Fund.
