Mark Bacon
Mark Erik Bacon, 58, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Mary Washington Hospital. Originally from Washington, D.C., he was a procurement specialist for the U.S. Postal Service in Washington for 34 years. Mr. Bacon was a Vietnam War veteran who received a Bronze Star and two Air Medals. He is survived by his wife, Rhondra Bacon; his daughter, Kristin C. Bacon; two grandsons, Christopher and Jalen of Fredericksburg; his mother, Althea C. Bacon of Washington; a sister; and three brothers. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Fredericksburg with the Rev. Donald Bryant officiating. An interment in Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western Virginia, 9211 Forest Hill Ave., Suite 205, Richmond, Va. 23235.
