Sophomore Katie Patchett scored two goals and added an assist to lead the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to its first victory of the season, a 5-0 win over Bridgewater College.
Junior Megan Vaughan-Albert, senior Jaclyn Gebbia and freshman Katelynn Shank also registered scores for the UMW.
The Eagles (1-3-1) will visit top-ranked Messiah College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Men's soccer
Freshman Ryan Snyder scored three goals as the Eagles, ranked fifth in the Division III South region, defeated Randolph-Macon College 4-1 yesterday.
UMW goalkeeper Emmett Rutkowski had four saves.
The Eagles (4-0) will host Greensboro College Saturday at 2 p.m.
Volleyball
York College defeated the University of Mary Washington's volleyball team three games to two yesterday. The game scores were 30-22, 27-30, 31-29, 24-30, 15-8.
The Eagles were led by Kelley Hueber, who had 20 kills; Anne Lutkenhaus, who served five aces; Lindsey Scott's 48 assists; and Samantha Harper, who recorded 24 digs.
Mary Washington (5-3, 0-1 CAC) hosts Bridgewater College today.
