Faith Thorpe demonstrated outstanding defense on the field for the Bees. Ben Wenger was exceptional as keeper, stopping 10 shots on goal during the game. Gavin Cornell also demonstrated outstanding goal keeping by stopping a penalty shot. Ryan Gamboa scored the team's goal. These players received medals for their performance during Saturday's game.
Cornhuskers 2, Bison 0
Sept. 13 at Wilderness Elementary
The Cornhuskers, captained by Joshua DeCasseres and John Ryan Roberson, played an excellent soccer game. Parker Heishman scored the two goals for the team. Madeline Slunt had an excellent save as goalie. Mackenzie Perkins exhibited strong defensive skills and had several big kicks in the first half.

Sept. 16 at Brock Road Elementary
The Kings played hard and even seemed to be picking up momentum in the last quarter but still lost to the Braves. Becky Talmadge had her debut in goal and made at least four good stops. Holland Boyd, Peter Allison and Jacob Zlater also played in goal. George Irvin, Holland Boyd and Peter Allison spent a lot of time in the mud due to some hard tackles. Jacob Zlater had his best offensive game ever pushing the ball up field and making a couple shots on goal. Elissa Crowder was crowned "the mud queen."

Sept. 11 at Marshall Park
This was another tough game for the Spartans. The Saints got off to a very fast start, scoring two goals in the first quarter, but Koz Kozloff teamed up with Luke Brogan, who scored the Spartans first goal. Matthew Garcia-Calderon assisted a Garrett Maddux goal from the 18-yard line which tied the game. The Saints scored once more in the third quarter and the battle continued. The Spartans never gave up, but lost the game. Kyle Raymond, Ryan Stanitski and Quandel Johnson each put forth a tremendous effort and really hustled.

Tyler Merrell scored the Turbos' first goal from a penalty kick. Marianna Hilldrup scored the second Turbos' goal. Johnathan Burton had five saves in the goal box during the first half of the game while Riddick Reinhart had three during the second half of the game. Austin Cox, Lauren Luttrell, and Robert Anderson had a good offensive game. Matthew Johnson and Ashleigh Benson played well in their defensive positions.

Sept. 9 at Thornburg Middle
The Gators used goals from Aubrie Jackson and Kaitlyn Comerford to defeat the Sunburst. Excellent defense was played by Mackenzie Jones, Hannah Brooks and Caedyn Berg.
The Sunburst, meanwhile, continued to exhibit teamwork. Peyton Burrow, Samantha Helsley, Libby Humes and Sarah Motl played an exceptional game which kept the Sunburst within striking distance of a victory. Dylan Letellier was singled out by the coaches as one of the game's best as she thwarted multiple shots at the Sunburst goal.

Sept. 9 at Thornburg Middle
The first goal was scored by Erin Hoover with an assist from Gracie Patterson. The second goal was scored by Lilly Church. Third goal by Erin Hoover again. The fourth goal was scored by Laura Grover, with an assist by Gracie Patterson; and Laura scored the fifth goal. Riley Naccarato scored the final goal of the game. The rest of the team worked well together and defended the goal. It was an exciting game.

Sept. 12 at Marshall Park
The first Cavalier goal was scored by Lilly Church. The second was scored by Jordan Atkins. The second quarter was scoreless. Laura Grover made the third and fourth goals, with an assist from Lilly Church on the fourth one. Lilly also scored the fifth goal. Illeana Reyes was a good defensive player throughout the game. The Rangers scored twice in the final quarter.
Sunburst 3, Fire 1
Sept. 13 at Marshall Park
An exceptional defensive effort by the Sunburst was needed to ensure a victory against a strong Fire team. Christa Noe, Mary Grace Humes and Katelyn Zumbrook led the way as they knocked away several attempts on the Sunburst goal. Katelyn also managed to work her way off the defensive line and push forward on offense and notch the first goal of the game. Also providing a superb performances were Lindsay Moore and Abby Farley. Lindsay, at midfield, made precision passes to her teammates. Abby capitalized on a couple of those passes knocking two beautifully placed shots in the back of the net.

Greer Trainham, assisted by Madison Maddux, scored the lone goal of the game. Katrielle Nicholas, Alexis Pierce and Kerrigan Rains hustled hard throughout the game for the Lasers. Jenna Phillips and Kathleen Smith pitched in defensively and offensively. Newcomer Colleen Hoover is to be commended for never giving up.

Jaedyn Sullivan and Kourtney Brezna each scored a goal for the Sabres. Cassidy Betterton and Jessica Showalter led the defense, allowing just one shot on goal. Kelly Cranick hustled her way up and down the field to slow down the Bullets.

Emily Burke tied the game up in the second half, while Skylar Wilcox, Shannon Wratchford and Katie Rauch had great shots and were unlucky not to score. Despite particularly awesome defense from Rachael Leaf, the Courage squeaked one in and lofted in another during the final minutes for the win.

Sept. 17 at Hotspur Park
Skylar Wilcox, Shannon Wratchford, Madalyn Amos and Emily Hunter scored the goals against a tough McLean team. Caroline Sorrell showed tremendous hustle, while Ashley Jacobs anchored the defense. The win was a complete team effort.

In a hard fought game between two good teams, the Dolphins came up short on the scoreboard but not in their efforts. The defense made two goal line stands as Jay Padgett, Timothy Bailey, Darius Carter, Logan Wornstaff, Matt Davis, David Dotson, Ryan Hostetter, Jeffrey Gannon, Alex Scott, C.J. Montalvo and Jonathan Banks all contributed. The offense moved the ball well as Joshua Johnson, Robbie Guthrie, Ryan Frankfort, Jacob Clarke, Logan Clarke, Ryan Grubbs, Matt Edwards, Joshua Sekela, Tyler Wright and Michael Hawkes opened holes as evidenced by Dante' Thomas' 80-yard touchdown run.

Sept. 16 at Ni River Middle
Chris Pritchett scored two touchdowns for the Ravens and caught a two-point conversion. Zach Long ran a two-point conversion and passed for the scoring of a two-point conversion. The hard-running Kemoni Dunn was aided by the great blocking of Cobe Lloyd, Colin Wills, Jacob Wise, David Frazier, Tyler Butler, DJ Adams, Jordan McCarty, Christian Talamentes and Josh Miller. The defense was outstanding again led by Brett Kelley, Keith Mosiniak, Justin Horton, Thomas Ziegenmeyer, Austin Bouchard, Justin Piercy and Saige George. Garrett Cropp and Luke Epperly caused a fumble. Kemoni Dunn and Zach Long created a fumble at the end of the game.

Touchdowns for the Cowboys were scored by Carrigan Henkel, Nate Garrette and Ashton Dixon, behind blocking from Tobias Robinson, Cody Campbell, Daniel Jacobs, Michael King, Timothy Vozzola and Collin Painter. Excellent defensive play came from Dillon Nolton, Levi Goodman, Jalen Miller and Cameron Nolton.

This was a very close game, well-played by both teams. Ashton Dixon had two touchdowns for the Cowboys and Nate Garrette scored one. Outstanding effort was made by Patrick George, E.J. Peak, Frank Kear, Cameron Clem, Gaige Gebhart, Andrew Butterfield, Alex Clem, Dakota Hudson, Aaron Lewis, Sheldon White and Kyle Weaver.
