Amy Volkmann's two late goals were enough for Washington & Lee as the Generals held off the University of Mary Washington for a 2-1 decision win at the Battleground.
Volkmann broke a scoreless tie with 10 minutes left in the match by scoring her first goal off an assist from Christina Merchant, then added her second five minutes later.
The Eagles' Chelsea Brown scoring on an assist from Alison Weckstein with 42 seconds left, but couldn't muster a follow-up score in the remaining seconds.
The Eagles outshot the Generals, 9-8, but W&L had eleven penalty corners to just two for UMW. Katherine Brown had four saves for UMW.
The Eagles (8-4) will travel to Lynchburg College Thursday.
