The Mountain View girls basketball team put up a fight on its home court last night, but Courtland held off the Wildcats to remain unbeaten on the season with a 57-51 overtime win. Krystal Garrison led the way with 16 points, but Jerlisa Bowser's key steal, lay-up and free throws in the extra session helped push the Cougars (9-0) over the top. Kiera Short led the Wildcats (6-6-5) with 21 points. Tomorrow, Courtland visit Chancellor and the Wildcats travel to Massaponax.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Brooke Point 66, JM 56The Hawks went on a 15-0 run in the second quarter to come back from a 26-13 deficit and pick up a road victory against the Yellow Jackets. Chay Shegog racked up a triple-double with 11 blocks, 17 boards and 24 points. Lynee Pina added 11 boards and 15 points for the Hawks. Kirastin Cole provided a spark for the visitors with 18 points, five steals and four assists, while Shiontae Preston tallied seven rebounds. Tomorrow, James Monroe heads to Spotsylvania and the Hawks entertain Colonial Forge.
