Robert G. Fulmer

Robert G. "Bob" Fulmer, 81, of Hartwood, a loving husband, father, granddad and great-granddad, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007.

Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Alexandria Harmonizers and Potomac Lodge 38, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was originally from Braddock, Pa.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nancy E. Fulmer; two sons, Gary E. Fulmer of Oakton and Chris A. Fulmer and his wife, Connie, of Stafford County; a daughter, Janine Waldman and her husband, Steven, of Stafford; a daughter-in-law, Carol Fulmer of Rhoadesville; two brothers, Clyde Norman Fulmer and Paul Fulmer and his wife, Harriett, all of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Hall and her husband, Chris, Courtney Simpson and her husband, Ken, Katie Baker and her husband, Justin, Chris R. Fulmer and his wife, Brittany, Jennifer Russ and her husband, Jason, Jonathan Steinmetz and his wife, Jessica, and Joshua Steinmetz; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Hall, MacKenzie Hall, Brylee Hall, Tyler Steinmetz, Genavieve Bently, Kayla Simpson, Skyler Simpson, Andrew Baker, Nathan Baker and Hannah Russ.

Bob was the son of the late Clarence and Florence Strobeck Fulmer. He also was preceded in death by a son, Glenn E. Fulmer, and a sister, Delores Griggs.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Henry McCaslin officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
