Foxes, Chargers wrestlersplace high in Falcon Duals

King George had nine wrestlers place in the top three in their respective weight classes in the Falcon Duals to help the Foxes finish third in the team standings.

Six Chancellor wrestlers finished in the top three as the Chargers were fifth overall. Host Fauquier won the team title.

David Cheramie took first place at 140 pounds for King George. Phillip Hinkes (112 pounds), Matt Jones (171) and Kelly Pierce (189) each placed second. Connor Webber (103), Jason Norris (135), Chad Funk (152), Zach Murphy (215) and Jake Sanford (heavyweight) were all third.

For the Chargers, Chris Smith (119 pounds), Ryan Weinstock (125), Sam Macgregor (130), Nader Elawar (160) and K.G. Weinstock (215) each finished in second place. Greg Stodgel was third at 171 pounds.

King George will compete in the Virginia Duals next weekend at the Hampton Coliseum. Chancellor will travel to Washington & Lee on Jan. 13.

SATURDAY'S OTHER RESULTS WRESTLING Perkins Duals

Host Stafford finished in second place in the weekend's Perkins Duals. Fairfax High School took the top spot.

Stephen Lamar was 4-0 at 171 pounds and was named one of the event's outstanding wrestlers. Six other Indians were named outstanding wrestlers after posting 3-1 marks.

Stafford will compete next weekend in the Manassas Park Invitational.

James Wood Duals

Mountain View won the first four dual matches until meeting the host school, James Wood, losing 31-42 on Saturday.

Four Wildcat wrestlers finshed the tournament with unblemished 5-0 records: Ethan Carmody (125 pounds), Shane Black (145), Conor Black (152/160), and Jim Leonard (Hwt).

Nick Farris (103), Michael Heflin (160/171), Russell Whitehouse (189), and Jerry Whitehouse (215) all went 4-1 on the day.

Mountain View (9-3) will travel to Colonial Forge on Wednesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Colonial Beach 48, Wakefield 42

Colonial Beach used an agressive defense and forced 21 turnovers to keep the Drifters undefeated in Delaney Athletic Conference play.

Keyvonna Pierce led the Drifters with a double-double recording 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Colonial Beach (8-3, 4-0) hosts King & Queen on Friday.
