Virginia P. Tate

Virginia Pearl Johnson Tate, 84, of Louisa died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Louisa Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Pearl Sherwood Sprouse.

She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Louisa and enjoyed visiting and socializing with her many friends at Betty Queen Center in Louisa. She was predeceased by brothers Randolph Sprouse, Elwood Sprouse, Wesley Sprouse, and her twin, Harry Sprouse.

Ms. Tate is survived by one son, William Edward Johnson Jr. and his special friend, Linda, of Stafford; two daughters, Jean J. Donovan and her husband, Howard, and Evelyn J. Seal, both of Louisa; two brothers, Clarence Sprouse of Louisa and Earl Sprouse of Midlothian; one sister, Estelle Bibb of Louisa; three grandchildren, Melody D. Hopkins and her husband, Jeff, of Glen Allen, Shannon Lynn Morton and her husband, C.D., and Contina F. Garrison and Mike, all of Partlow; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Devin, Morgan, C.J., Jordan and Mackenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Panebaker at Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa.
