From the Taye Diggs television show to the Denzel Washington film, dejà vu has been a popular subject in Hollywood lately. And this week's new releases are experiencing it in the worst possible way.
First there was the 1974 original, then the sequels, the spinoffs and the remake. Finally, the true mysteries of Leather-face are revealed in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning," a prequel to the remake, now on DVD.
You can keep reliving the '70s by picking up a pair of polyester bell-bottoms and the high definition DVD of "Poseidon," a CGI-remake of the 1972 movie about a capsizing ocean liner.
Then, get groovy with Diana Ross, as her new "I Love You" hits 8-tracks everywhere. Or catch America 's latest attempt to be relevant by collaborating with indie artists such as Ryan Adams , Ben Kweller and members of My Morning Jacket on the retrospective "Here & Now."
But for those who would just as soon skip the disco decade, it would be remiss not to mention the slew of '80s chart-toppers also hitting the CD shelves this week and next, including Crowded House , Echo & the Bunnymen , and Roxette . Where's MC Hammer when you need him?
