Three arrested after off-duty deputy sniffs marijuana while eating at Spotsylvania Taco Bell. Date published: 1/25/2007
Three people were arrested at a Taco Bell in Spotsylvania County after an off-duty sheriff's deputy who was eating there smelled what he believed to be marijuana on them.
The incident occurred Tuesday night at the Taco Bell on Plank Road, said Spotsylvania sheriff's Lt. Eddie Peck. Deputy Adam Assur noticed that three people who came into the restaurant smelled strongly of marijuana, Peck said. He called the Sheriff's Office. Deputy Delbert Myrick escorted the trio outside the business for further questioning. The three suspects all are accused of having varying amounts of marijuana on them, Peck said. Deputies found additional packages of marijuana inside the vehicle they were in. All three were arrested. Giovanni Avante Beachboard, 19, of Spotsylvania, was charged with felony marijuana distribution and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Peck said. He was being held without bond. James Robert Bolen, 18, of Spotsylvania, was charged with marijuana possession and released on a summons, Peck said. The third person was a juvenile, and his name was not released. Marijuana charges are pending against him, authorities say. To reach BILL FREEHLING:
that cop was [*#@!]ing retarded i no that selling to minors not right but....i no people that drive better high then sober....and yes i know all three of them and fredericksburg cops in this area are all just looking to screw people over al three are very cool people know their limits and would'nt drive realy high i've rode with one of them and is a safe driver thats all WAYTOOMANY.COM
It's funny to think that beyond the off duty officers taco he could smell 3 "burnouts" and decide to cuff them. I dunno if I'm alone on this but doesn't it seem like there are bigger problems in the community? Besides that, how often do you hear of someone getting into an accident because of too much thc in their system? I do not believe the charges to be negative, but I do believe it's a waste to fill prisons with drug related felons rather than child molestors, murderers, and tax-evaders ;)
Are you smokikng dope as well? Are you serious? The only cure these kids were trying to get was the lack of a good high. When it's used under the right conditions for cancer patients I'm all for it, but HELLO? These idiots were selling/using and driving under the influence. Maybe when it was someone in your family that they kill on the road you'll think differently about truth and justice!
Instead of showing your disrespect towards a job well done, why don't you acknowledge the fact that an officer, during his time off of work, decided to do the right thing. Rather than letting it go & having 3 burnouts then getting into their car & driving off under the influence, jeopordizing others. ....P.S. In case you're wondering, I'm not a cop, just someone who is sick & tired of people twisting any rightful & lawful act done by police into something negative.
Instead of spending all sorts of money on training narcotics sniffing dogs, Spotsylvania has a dope sniffing deputy. How quaint!
