Nannie E. Brown

Nannie E. Brown, 72, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Born in Spotsylvania County, Mrs. Brown had retired from Mary Washington College. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg and the widow of Thomas Brown.

Survivors include one daughter, Jerussia B. Lucas and her husband, Jake, of Spotsylvania; three sisters, Mary Kenney, Frances Woolfolk and Shirley Jackson, all of Fredericksburg; one granddaughter, Jessica Brown-Richardson of Maryland, whom she raised; and two other grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), with the Rev. Lawrence A. Davies, pastor, giving the eulogy. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at A.L. Bennett & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, and one hour before the service at the church Friday.
